September 20, 2023 - Our university has launched the "Buddy" student program to assist international students arriving under the Erasmus+ and Freemover programs in adapting more smoothly. In this context, internal training sessions were organized for the "Buddy" students who will provide guidance to incoming students.
The training program aims to equip incoming students with the necessary knowledge and skills to have a more comfortable start on campus and in the city. The training provided to "Buddy" students included detailed information on how to support incoming students and establish effective communication.
Key focal points of the training program included introducing incoming students to important locations on campus, assisting them in obtaining transportation cards, and providing information about the city. Additionally, participants were guided on creating official accounts and the procedures related to the Provincial Directorate of Migration.
The training program was conducted under the guidance of our university's Erasmus Agreements and Incoming Student/Academic Staff Responsible Lecturer, Lecturer Çağrı Ege. The program received strong interest from volunteer assistant students and "Buddy" students.
Our university aims to extend a warm welcome to international students, contributing to their quick adjustment to our university and the city. "Buddy" students will play a vital role in assisting incoming students to ensure they have the best possible experience during their time at our university.
